1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing the CoparentCanada.ca platform, creating an account, or using the services offered, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not accept these terms, you must immediately stop using the platform.

2. Description of service

CoparentCanada is a Canadian digital platform designed to facilitate communication, organization, and collaborative management between parents, guardians, or legal representatives.

Features may include:

  • parental calendar;
  • consent management;
  • document sharing;
  • communication log;
  • notifications;
  • schedule management;
  • secure information storage;
  • exchanges between users;
  • administrative and legal tools.

CoparentCanada is not:

  • a law firm;
  • an emergency service;
  • a government platform;
  • a parental authority;
  • an official mediation body;
  • a substitute for professional legal advice.

3. Eligibility

You must:

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • be legally authorized to use the services;
  • provide accurate information;
  • maintain the confidentiality of your account.

You are responsible for any activity carried out from your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • harass or threaten another user;
  • publish defamatory, hateful, or illegal content;
  • impersonate another person;
  • transmit false information;
  • circumvent security measures;
  • attempt to access unauthorized data;
  • use the platform for criminal purposes;
  • publish information concerning a child without appropriate legal authorization.

CoparentCanada reserves the right to suspend or delete any account that violates these terms.

5. Protection of personal information

CoparentCanada applies measures compliant with:

  • Quebec's Law 25;
  • PIPEDA applicable in Canada;
  • the principles of data minimization and explicit consent.

6. Collection of information

We may collect:

  • name;
  • email address;
  • phone number;
  • login information;
  • data related to parenting agreements;
  • uploaded documents;
  • activity logs;
  • digital consents;
  • technical and analytical data;
  • IP addresses;
  • information related to use of the services.

We limit collection to the information necessary for the determined purposes.

8. Hosting and security

Information may be hosted in Canada or in cloud infrastructures used by our technology providers.

CoparentCanada implements reasonable security measures:

  • encryption;
  • access control;
  • authentication;
  • logging;
  • backups;
  • incident monitoring;
  • data segmentation.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Privacy incident

In the event of an incident presenting a serious risk of harm, CoparentCanada will apply the procedures provided by Law 25, including:

  • maintaining an incident register;
  • notification of the persons concerned;
  • notification of the competent authorities when required.

10. Data retention and deletion

Personal information is retained only for the time necessary for:

  • the intended purposes;
  • legal obligations;
  • dispute management;

You remain the owner of the content you upload.

However, you grant CoparentCanada a limited license allowing:

  • hosting;
  • backup;
  • secure transmission;
  • display within the framework of the services.

You are solely responsible for the content shared.

14. No legal guarantee

The information, consents, documents, or exchanges on the platform do not constitute legal advice.

CoparentCanada recommends consulting:

  • a lawyer;
  • a mediator;
  • a qualified professional;
  • when necessary.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, CoparentCanada cannot be held responsible for:

  • disputes between users;
  • parental decisions;
  • indirect losses;
  • service interruptions;
  • data loss;
  • damages resulting from misuse of the platform.

Use of the services is at the user's own risk.

16. Suspension or termination

CoparentCanada may suspend or terminate an account:

  • in case of violation of these terms;
  • for security reasons;
  • for legal obligations;
  • to protect users or the children concerned.

17. Modifications

CoparentCanada may modify these terms at any time.

Significant changes will be published on the platform with a new update date.

18. Applicable law

These terms are governed by:

  • the laws of Quebec;
  • applicable Canadian federal laws.

Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of the judicial district determined by CoparentCanada.
